| Bio profile: Jaclyn Mann is a senior lecturer and researcher in the HIV Pathogenesis Programme at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She completed her PhD in Virology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her research interests include understanding the effect of immune-driven mutations on HIV replication capacity and inter-subtype comparisons of HIV protein function to help understand differences in prevalence and expansion of HIV subtypes. She received a FLAIR fellowship from the Royal Society and African Academy of Sciences to characterise HIV variants in reservoirs, which present a barrier to curing HIV. She has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles. |
